Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Biscuits
Peanut butter and banana is the flavor combo dogs go wild for — and it could not be simpler to make at home. These wholesome biscuits use just a handful of pantry ingredients and come out crunchy, golden, and totally tail-wag approved.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup xylitol-free natural peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups whole-wheat or oat flour
- 1 tbsp water (if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Mash the banana, then stir in the peanut butter and egg until smooth.
- Add the flour gradually, mixing into a stiff dough. Add a splash of water if it is too dry.
- Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut with a bone-shaped cutter.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until firm and golden. Cool completely before serving.
🩺 Vet-informed safety note
Peanut butter is a dog favorite — but it MUST be xylitol-free, as xylitol is highly toxic to dogs. Banana is safe and naturally sweet, best in moderation due to its sugar. Always avoid these in any dog treat: xylitol (a sweetener often in peanut butter), chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, and excess salt or sugar. Treats should make up no more than about 10% of your dog’s daily calories. If your dog has allergies, a sensitive stomach, or a health condition, check with your veterinarian first.
Storage
Store cooled biscuits in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Always let treats cool fully before serving.
