Spinach & Cheese Dog Biscuits

Leafy spinach and a little cheese make these green biscuits both nutritious and crave-worthy. A great way to sneak some greens into your dog’s day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup shredded low-fat cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups whole-wheat flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix spinach, cheese and egg.
  3. Add flour to form a dough.
  4. Roll, cut, and place on a lined tray.
  5. Bake 18–22 minutes; cool completely.

🩺 Vet-informed safety note

Spinach is fine in moderation; dogs with kidney concerns should avoid it due to oxalates. Use low-fat cheese and skip it if your dog is sensitive to dairy. Always avoid these in any dog treat: xylitol (a sweetener often in peanut butter), chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, and excess salt or sugar. Treats should make up no more than about 10% of your dog’s daily calories. If your dog has allergies, a sensitive stomach, or a health condition, check with your veterinarian first.

Storage

Store cooled biscuits in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months. Always let treats cool fully before serving.
