  • 1/2 cup grated apple cored, no seeds
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 1/4 cup xylitol-free peanut butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup plain unsweetened yogurt for frosting

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); grease a small 6-inch round pan.
  2. Mix the apple, carrot, applesauce, eggs and peanut butter.
  3. Stir in the oat flour and baking soda until combined.
  4. Pour into the pan and bake 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool completely, then frost with plain yogurt and top with a few dog-safe berries.

Notes

Use a small pan for a tall cake. Serve a small slice — it is a treat, not a meal. Xylitol-free peanut butter only.

🐾 Vet-informed safety note. A celebration treat — serve a small slice. Core and peel the apple, use xylitol-free peanut butter, and keep the frosting light (plain yogurt or low-fat cream cheese) for dairy-sensitive dogs. Source: American Kennel Club.

Storage & make-ahead

Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days; freeze unfrosted layers for up to 2 months.
