Parmesan Cheese Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup dry milk
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup unsalted chicken or beef broth (low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, dry milk, and cornmeal.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken or beef broth, water, vegetable oil, and egg.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, you can add a little more water.
  5. If using, fold in the fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese into the dough.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  7. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for the dog biscuits. You can use bone-shaped or other fun shapes.
  8. Place the cut-out shapes on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  10. Allow the biscuits to cool completely before serving them to your dog.

Remember to store the homemade dog biscuits in an airtight container to keep them fresh. You can also adjust the recipe based on your dog’s dietary needs and preferences. Always check with your veterinarian if you have concerns about specific ingredients or if your dog has any food allergies.
