Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup dry milk
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup unsalted chicken or beef broth (low sodium)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, dry milk, and cornmeal.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken or beef broth, water, vegetable oil, and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, you can add a little more water.
- If using, fold in the fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese into the dough.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes for the dog biscuits. You can use bone-shaped or other fun shapes.
- Place the cut-out shapes on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Allow the biscuits to cool completely before serving them to your dog.
